March 7, 2025 – the first “Tibetan Origin Exploration” tourist train of 2025 arrived in Shannan with the sound of its whistle. Nearly 400 media professionals and travel enthusiasts from Hubei eagerly disembarked onto this beautiful land. They gathered in the “First Village of Tibetan Opera” – the Zhashi Qu’deng community, where they were warmly welcomed by leaders from the Hubei Aid-Tibet Work Team and the Shannan Municipal Bureau of Culture and Tourism. As part of the traditional Tibetan welcoming ceremony, guests were presented with white khatas (Tibetan scarves) and fragrant barley wine, offering them an authentic taste of Tibetan hospitality. This marked the beginning of the “Tibetan Origin Exploration” journey.

In the Zhashi Qu’deng community, the travelers not only enjoyed a spectacular Tibetan opera performance but also joined local residents around a blazing bonfire, singing and dancing together. It was a joyous and unforgettable time for everyone. One of the visitors, Gao Shujuan, expressed her excitement: “This is my first time in Shannan. Experiencing the local customs and culture has deeply moved me. From the banks of the Yangtze River to the Yarlung Zangbo River Valley, this trip has given me a deeper understanding of the ‘ancestral homeland of the Tibetan people and the source of Tibetan culture.’ It has also allowed me to learn more about the culture and history of Tibet and Shannan.”
